The Worldwide Leader in Flicker and Arc Furnace Power Monitoring Technology

UHP Digital Flicker Simulator

The UHP Digital Flicker Simulator was developed to provide very high precision flicker output wave forms for testing and simulation. This PC based system includes the simulator module and operating software. The system allows highly accurate settings of line (output) frequency, voltage calibration, flicker frequency, RMS flicker amplitude, harmonic level, harmonic number and harmonic frequency. Flicker wave form is selectable from sinusoidal, triangular or square wave. Percent voltage fluctuation (Delta E) is displayed. Output levels are low voltage AC up to 4 volts p-p with percent of full scale information displayed. The software is Windows® based requiring a 486 or higher PC and serial port. The simulator uses 120 VAC auxiliary power with the provided plug-in module.

Specifications

The Digital Flicker Simulator module is a 16 bit device providing continuous precision op-amp based output waveforms. Power is provided by a 120 VAC wall plug module supplying 9 VDC. The case size is approximately 5.6" x 1.5" x 7.5." BNC connectors are provided for signal output and logic level timing outputs for flicker/harmonic and carrier waveform.

Applications

The system can be used to perform precision testing and verification of flicker monitoring equipment and in conjunction with an amplifier system (and transformer) can be used to precisely demonstrate the flicker sensitivity of lighting sources or other equipment.
